Weeks, G.M.A.C. Meaburn, S. Gordon Title: Absorption coefficients of liquid water and aqueous solutions in the far ultraviolet Journal/Source: Radiation Research, 19, 559-567, (1963); https://www.jstor.org/stable/3571475 Data: table, diagram Energy/Wavelength range: 180 - 200 nm Resolution: Temperature: 298 K Temperature dependence: no Pressure/Concentration: 10^-3 M Phase: aqueous solution pH: Comments: The extinction coefficients have been determined at 184.9 nm and/or 180 -190 nm for aqueous solutions of sulfuric acid, sodium sulfate, ethyl acetate, methyl alcohol, formic acid, sidium formate, perchloric acid, hydrogen peroxide, potassium carbonate, and potassium iodide, bromide, and chloride. The data for formic acid, when corrected for the absorption of formate ion at the various concentrations studied, yield a constant value of 34.9 (liters mole-1 cm-1) at 1849 A for the extinction coefficient of undissociated formic acid.
