Maric, J.P. Burrows, G.K. Moortgat Title: A Study of the UV-Visible Absorption Spectra of Br2 and BrCl Journal/Source: J. Photochem. Photobiol. A: Chem., 83, 179-192, (1994); http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/1010-6030(94)03823-6 Data: table, diagram Energy/Wavelength range: 200 - 600 nm Resolution: 0.2 nm Temperature: 298 K Temperature dependence: no Pressure/Concentration. Phase: vapor pH: Comments: The UV-visible absorption spectrum of BrCl (200-600 nm) and the equilibrium coefficient for the reaction (Br2)g + (Cl2)g <-- KBrCl --> 2(BrCl)g were obtained by analysis of the absorption spectra of gaseous mixtures of Cl2 and Br2, which were investigated at 298 K with a spectral resolution of 0.2 nm. The absorption cross-sections of BrCl are in good agreement with those reported by other workers. Author to whom correspondence should be addressed: (e-mail address):
