science-softCon uv/vis+ spectra data base; www.uv-spectra.de, (C) science-softCon 2019 Substance: hydrogen cyanide Other Names: hydrocyanic acid Formula: HCN CAS-No.: 74-90-8 Study: spectroscopic study, uv absorption spectrum Authors: L.C. Lee Title: CN(A2->X2) and CN(B2->X2) yields from HCN photodissociation Journal/Source: J. Chem. Phys., 72, 6414-6421, (1980); http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.439140 Data: diagram, table Energy/Wavelength range: 105 - 125 nm Resolution: Temperature: Temperature dependence: Pressure/Concentration: Phase: pH: Comments: The photoabsorption cross section of HCN has been measured, and the quantum yields for the emissions are determined. The spectra for the photoabsorption and photoemission cross sections are interpreted with the known excited states of HCN. In the 1050-1300 A region, the present data agree reasonably well with the measurements of West (PhD Thesis, University of Wisconsin, 1975) and Glicker (priv. comm.), except at 1075 and 1123.5 A, where the present values are 80 and 137 Mb in contrast to West's values of 65 and 84 Mb, respectively.
