Nitrite absorption occurs throughout the UVB and UVA, with a maximum absorption at 354 nm. Molar absorption coefficient values reported here are in excellent agreement with published values for both nitrate (e.g. epsilon(305nm) = 7.01 M-1 cm-1 and nitrite epsilon(354nm) = 22.73 M-1 cm-1.
