Comments: The  absorption spectra of ethanol solutions of some inorganic mercury compounds and of some methyl- and phenyl-mercury 
derivatives have been measured. The HgI2 absorption maxima are located at 215 nm (log epsilon = 4.36) and at 273 nm (log epsilon = 3.74).
